Holiday decorating will get a new boost the year – and for a good cause! Three local communities (Yarnell, Peeples Valley and Wilhoit) will host a HOLIDAY SHUTTLE EXPRESS during the first three weekends in December. For a small fee, riders will tour the 3 communities, enjoy hot chocolate and holiday goodies, and get to VOTE on the residence they think was the best decorated (separate ballots for each community!) There must be a minimum of 12 homes in each community in order for the Holiday Shuttle Express to be practical. Plans are still in early stages * including a way for folks who prefer to drive themselves to participate. Yarnell Area Resource Group is partnering with the Yarnell Fire Department, AZ State Parks and Trails, and the Calvary Chapel New Day to raise money for the shuttle to the Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial Park. Budget cuts at the State level threaten the viability of the Shuttle. The new NO PARKING signs near the Park will increase demand for the shuttle during the upcoming visitor season.
Residents who want to compete for cash prizes (in each of the three communities) will need to register by October 31 (with a small registration fee.) If you want to decorate and compete for a prize we have two ways for you to sign up. The first is to print the following sign up sheet. The second way is to register below and make a Zelle payment by clicking on the ICON in front of the registration form.
